Depends how you define access each other's computers.

if from a terminal window (Applications >> Accessories >> Terminal) and type..

ping siwsan-desktop

.. and then press Enter. If you do that and start getting replies along
the lines of ...

PING siwsan-desktop (192.168.1.4) 56(84) bytes of data.

64 bytes from siwsan-desktop (192.168.1.4): icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.136 ms

64 bytes from siwsan-desktop (192.168.1.4): icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.135 ms

then you can access each other's computers, well in terms of being able to
know they are there.

To access files on another computer, you'll need to setup some form of
filesharing .. on bobtower Right Click on a folder you want to share and
then click Share Folder.

It'll ask you for your administrative password and then give a couple of
options about what sharing services you want to install ... I'd go for
Samba - others may have different thoughts.

>From there I'm starting to guess :-)

It'll ask you what you want to call the share eg 'BobJunk' ;-)
Once all is done you'll should be able to do things like this on
siwsan-desktop ...

Places >> Connect to Server >> Service Type = Windows Share >> Server =
bobtower >> Share = BobJunk >> Name to Use = Bobs Junk on Bobs Tower

Not sure what you'll use for a username. I imagine you'll need to setup
the other on your own computer and twiddle around with permissions. I
haven't played around much with that myself .. just me at home and I have
the same account on all computers :-)

Good luck,

Ian
