hi Mark,
I do agree with your thoughts on this, I can see many good situations
where I'd like to permit some advertising, eg:
* Linux Jobs
* Linux Training Courses
However, Ewen has made it clear many times that he won't tolerate any
kind of advertising, and whilst I don't agree with his reasoning for
doing so, as he is the hosting provider we can either respect this
decision or move elsewhere.
So far the annoyance of the policy has been less than the annoyance of
having to migrate the list, so I haven't made any plans to move.

If desired I can provide hosting on my own infrastructure which will
allow Wellylug to change it's policies.
Ewen has done a fantastic job of hosting the mailing list for several
years, but it does seem to me that a number of people on the list would
like to be able to post advertising related emails.
